How to Freeze Fresh Strawberries
If you went strawberry picking, or bought a ton of fresh berries when they were in season, here are some common questions for freezing them to make sure you have them all year long:

To make sure your strawberries will freeze well there are a couple of essential steps! First of all, you want to wash the berries and allow them to drain in a strainer fully. Once the berries are dry you can then transfer them to a parchment lined baking sheet and put them directly in the freezer. Allow them to freeze for 24 hours before moving them to freezer safe bags.
You should always wash your strawberries before preparing them for the freezer. Washing them first ensures that any dirt and bugs are rinsed off and not sealed in! The best way to do this is using a fruit strainer for them to dry in before adding them to a baking tray to freeze.
The key to freezing berries without them getting mushy is in the drying process. Begin with the steps above (wash thoroughly in a strainer) allow to drip dry and then transfer to paper towel or a clean kitchen towel and gently pat dry to remove any leftover water. Then space the berries apart on a parchment lined baking sheet and let them freeze uncovered for 24 hours before storing in the freezer. This ensures that all the excess moisture from washing is gone and your strawberries will taste as fresh as the day they were picked!
